Vienna - The Mac OS Open Source RSS Reader

So the lack of an option to "Sort By Date" in NetNewsWire Lite had always frustrated me. Yes, I could have paid to upgrade to the full NetNewsWire, but I prefer free, both in terms of "free beer" and "free speech". So the lack of that feature had me searching for a new RSS Reader.

PECL-APC upgrade

PECL-APC is an alternative PHP cache that should speed up the delivery of PHP based web applications. There are conflicts between APC and Gallery, so I have to avoid caching the php-based photo gallery software used at the-eleven.com.

PECL-APC 3.0.11 has just been released. It hopefully provides fixes for a few errors. If the stability is good, I'm even willing to test out the optimizer later to see how experimental it is. Detailed configuration information on the various options available for APC.

FUDforum Upgrade For Substance

If you've lurked around The Eleven for a few years, you know about Substance, the forum where registered users discuss topics from food and television to politics.

The forum software is FUDforum, that runs on PHP with various data backends including PostgreSQL. The latest version of the software is 2.7.6RC1.
