So I actually snuck a new version of Songbird for Mac OSX PPC up to the server about a month ago. The dmg includes both Songbird and some of the extensions, including a working version of the Shoutcast plugin. At times I've had some instability with this version, so as always be sure to backup your configuration inside ~/Library/Application Support/Songbird2. (This directory is from memory, since I've mothballed my PPC Mac for the moment.)

Give me some feedback, if you use it. I'll probably turn on the Mac once in a while to spin off a new version if folks still want me to. But I got tired of recompiling the rest of my dev binaries to stay up to date via NetBSD's pkg-src and I don't particularly care for what I've seen of Lion and I had a spare dual-core AMD machine sitting around, so I've swapped out the Mac for an Arch Linux box. And for someone who's been using a Mac since the 512Ke and Plus with those wretched recessed Torx screws and groovy signatures engraved in the shielding, I'm surprised at how happy I am with XFCE and a sprinkling of apps from both KDE and Gnome.
I got to about 513KB and the download stops (complete) any idea why?\r\nThanks,
No idea at all. It's very strange. I can download it locally no problem.
Hmm... I retested and had some issues. Changed a few config settings on nginx and it seems to work now. Willing to give it a try again?
Thanks Thomas: Download and update worked just fine for me running Tiger on an MDD G4. Looks like I'm also going to stop using my PPC machines on a regular basis, but I wanted to say thanks for all your work. It kept me going with Songbird for quite a while!
Hello, just to say thank you for the PPC and OSX TIger support. Once again, thanks for the work.
Hello Mr. Legg! I'm glad someone's providing a PowerPC build of this app for us diehards! Unfortunately, this download link seems to be down (again?), as I get a simple error when I click on it.
Anyway, as others have said, thank you for what you do, and I hope you'll keep it up a while. I'm keeping a G5 quad going here, and it's always a pain watching this very capable hardware being left behind by developers.
Sorry about that. Didn't reconfigure the server for the files directory when I jumped from php to django. Should be all set now.
